Friends of the Rancho Bernardo Library

Join - Become a Member

Are you thinking about joining the RB Friends of the Library but you need to know more?

Here’s how you benefit.
• You can borrow from the Friends Lending Library of hot new best sellers.
• You pay half-price in the shop all day every day, not just Wednesdays.
• You receive the Friends Newsletter, keeping you in the know.
• You have a variety of opportunities to volunteer and make new friends while you help.
• You have the satisfaction of supporting worthwhile efforts to enrich library service to the community—by helping fund activities, events, books, DVDs, CDs and more.

Although the City budget staffs the open hours, takes care of the building, and buys some materials, Friends of the Library funds support almost all programs, many of the materials you borrow, and some improvements to the facilities. The Friends (FOL) is invaluable to this community. Just ask the librarians.

Here’s how Rancho Bernardo benefits.
The Friends of the Library truly makes a difference in the services our library is able to offer our own community of Rancho Bernardo. As members, we want to spread the joy of reading and the ability to seek information. We’d love to have you join us.
• All our financial support stays in Rancho Bernardo.
• We bring free jazz and classical concerts to the community.
• Children and adults enjoy our summer reading programs and win prizes for finishing.
• We provide funds for deserving special projects the Librarian requests.
• We run the Jerry Peterson Bookshop inside the library.
• We hold semiannual Book Sales at the library.
• We accept donations of books, endowments, and bequests, all to support our library.

In the case of good books, the point is not how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.
