Discovery Concert to Feature Youth Philharmonic Orchestra-String Class on April 13

The free Discover Concert Series at the Rancho Bernardo Branch Library presents Fiddlin Fun with the Music of Mark O’Connor by the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra’s Advanced and Intermediate Strings at 3 pm Saturday, April 13.  The concert will feature American folk music, fiddling favorites, and selections from the famous Mark O’Connor American Music Method for string orchestra.

Students in the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra program range in age from 6-14 and some of their parents donate their talents by playing along with the students in their weekly classes and performances.

The Discovery series of concerts at the library serves to educate the public about various music forms and to expand the opportunity for local musicians to perform and provide insights to their music.  There is no charge for this performance and all ages are welcome.  The concert will be in the second floor community room at the library.

In the case of good books, the point is not how many of them you can get through, but rather how many can get through to you.
